Aloha! Dewane and Charlyne’s Waikoloa home is spacious and lovely. They’ve done a wonderful job in renovating this house. Some very good decisions about the house were the high ceiling in the living room, the white kitchen, the kitchen island, and the general kitchen arrangement were good choices. It lightens up the area and made it pretty easy to work in. I stayed in the guest bedroom with a sliding door and quick access to picking their ripe, sweet fruit at any time of day. It was a nice sized bedroom with a comfy, memory foam mattress and a spacious closet. The bathroom was beautiful too.
Their choice in furniture is very classy and modern yet comfortable. I spent most of the time relaxing in front of their Smart TV during the weekdays. My son and I spent both Saturday and Sunday at the beach. Among my favorite Kohala beaches are Mauna Kea, A-Bay, Waialea, Kikaua Point, to name just a few. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Dewane and Charlyne’s home, and not to mention, they were really friendly and informative hosts. Just that aloha spirit and hospitality made our stay so much special on the Big Island.

The “Laule’a Ohana Hale” is a wonderful getaway and comfortable vacation spot; away from the hustle and bustle of the prime tourist spot in Kailua-Kona. Waikoloa was really an ideal place that was close to the great beaches, high-end resorts, and some choice places to hike or jog. However, Dewane and Charlyne accommodated our most important need, which was my elderly mother. They had put in a new teak shower stool in the guest bathroom so that she can sit comfortably to bathe. That’s what stood out the most about their beautiful home, was their hospitality. It wasn’t all about their fine choice in furnishings and tasteful décor, nor their really large kitchen and awesome island where we stood around slicing the fresh fruit we picked off their trees, nor their comfortable leather chairs in the Great Room where we relaxed and watched a movie trending on Netflix, not to mention their ever so restful and firm queen bed in the Master Suite and my mom’s also comfy queen bed in the guest bedroom. They created such an awesome respite, and recommended some great places to explore, our favorites being the Kohala beaches (A-Bay and Hapuna Beach), Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden in Hilo side along with the Volcano, and since my mom wanted to go to a luau, they recommended The Fairmont Orchid for the great food and entertainment. Such an enjoyment! Oh, we wished that we could’ve stayed longer than a week. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Mahalo, Dewane and Charlyne, for sharing your ‘peaceful family home’ with us and being attentive to our needs. God bless!
